About PH Theater Wrapped

PH Theater Wrapped is like Spotify Wrapped, but instead of songs, it’s all about celebrating Philippine theater. It’s a fun way to look back at the shows, moments, and trends that made the year special in the local theater scene, designed to be simple and enjoyable for everyone. The idea for PH Theater Wrapped started in 2023, thanks to Brie / Maya (@joymanawari) and Dyn / Crystal's (@allmylovekoharu) shared love for theater. They worked together on templates, resources, and planning, but the project wasn’t finished on time and was eventually set aside. In 2024, Dyn decided to bring the project back to life on her own, completing (as much as possible) both the 2023 and 2024 theater wrapped.Dyn is thankful for Brie’s help and contributions to the 2023 wrapped project, which helped shape what PH Theater Wrapped is today. From 2024 onwards, the project is Crystal’s solo effort, fueled by her passion for sharing Philippine theater with more people.PH Theater Wrapped is here to make celebrating theater easy, fun, and something everyone can enjoy. Let’s relive the magic of the stage together!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I include pro-shots, concerts, or movies in my Theater Wrapped?
No, only professional live productions with a plot are included. Pro-shots, concerts, and movies are not part of the theater wrapped.
How do I use the Google Sheets database?
You can make a copy of the Google Sheets provided. The database already includes a list of productions, but feel free to add or adjust it based on your preferences.
What if the production I watched isn’t on the list?
The database is based on approximations from Theater Fans Manila’s theater calendar. If a production isn’t listed, you’re welcome to add it manually.
I watched only one show per production. How do I rank them?
Ranking is entirely based on personal preference. If you can’t decide, feel free to leave the ranking random or skip it altogether.
How do I use the Canva and PSD templates?
The Canva templates and PSD files are provided for your personal use. Simply make a copy of the Canva template or download the PSD file to edit. Note that you can’t edit the original Canva file directly.
Is Instagram templates available?
Yes there is! You can look on @dyndyn_draws Instagram stories highlights.
There’s an Instagram template and an “Add Yours” prompt. Which one should I use?
The (Year) PH Theater Wrapped “Add Yours” prompt is highly encouraged because it’s quick and easy to use, especially if you’re sharing directly on Instagram. While it’s possible to upload individual photos edited using Canva or Photoshop with the Instagram templates, it can be a bit more time-consuming.
That said, everyone is free to choose whichever method they prefer. The Instagram templates are provided as an option for people who can’t use Canva or Photoshop but still want to share their Wrapped creatively. Can I customize the list if I’m a theater practitioner?
Yes! If you’re part of a production but feel it might skew your results, you can exclude that production or only include the times you watched as an audience member.
What if I don’t want to use my personal stage door photos?
Alternative resources are provided for users who don’t want to use their personal photos or don’t have any. However, it might not be possible to provide every photo, especially for specific artists, due to the difficulty of tracking every theater performer who performed this year in a short amount of time. If any photographers or artists want to contribute photos or request their removal, they can contact @allmylovekoharu on Instagram.
What should I do if I encounter an issue or need help?
For any questions or assistance, feel free to contact @allmylovekoharu on Instagram.

How it Works

Spotify Wrapped neatly compiles your monthly listening stats for you. While auto-generating your theater summaries like Spotify does is impossible, this year's productions have been consolidated into a single sheet! (huge thank you for Theater Fans Manila for their calendar as well as putting each show's running time on their reviews).*The focus is exclusively on professional live productions with a plot, excluding pro-shots and concerts. The list is derived from Theater Fan's Manila's 2024 theater calendar. If you come across any missed productions, particularly university productions, feel free to add them to your personal copy of the sheets. In the resources tab, there's a sheet file (copy it for your use) where you can input data for automated calculations. So you don't have to do manual computations anymore! But, if you do want to manually do it yourself (as a mathematician you are) here's the formula on how to compute it* important note: everything is all by approximation onlyHow To Get The Total Amount of Minutes You've Seen a Show
[approx run time - intermission] x number of times you've watched
How To Get The Total Amount of Minutes You've Seen An Actor Perform
[(show 1 run time - intermission time) x amount of times seen] + [(show 2 run time - intermission time) x amount of times seen] and so on = number of minutes actor was seen
more in depth explanation on the google sheets calculatorAfter completing the calculations and finalizing your data, feel free to personalize the templates based on your results. Visit the resources tab where you'll find google drive folder containing show pictures (sourced from respective official theater accounts) as well as photos of respective artists. You can also customize them if you have your own photos of the shows you watched! For wrapped post please do keep the website on the lower right corner. If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to DM @allmylovekoharu on Instagram
